Over the past decade, she has trained with respected teachers and taught extensively in the United States and abroad. Shannon completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in Raleigh, NC in 2013 and her 500-hour training in 2020. She became a Certified Yoga Therapist in 2025, meeting the accreditation standards of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Her additional studies include Chair Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Yin Yoga, and other adaptive approaches that support accessibility across a wide range of abilities and conditions.
A rare neurological disease, Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA), is present in Shannon’s family, and she has witnessed firsthand the profound impact it can have on both individuals and their loved ones. Watching her father’s progression deepened her understanding of the physical, emotional, and relational challenges that accompany neurodegenerative conditions, and inspired her to pursue yoga therapy as a path of support.
Shannon works with clients to explore how to live with greater steadiness, confidence, and ease, even in the presence of a progressive condition. Drawing from a therapeutic “toolbox” of supported postures, breathwork, and meditation, her sessions are designed to meet each individual where they are and to cultivate a sense of calm, resilience, and connection.
She splits her time between Raleigh, North Carolina and San Pedro, Belize, where she offers classes, workshops, and therapeutic sessions.
