Finding Steadiness in the Midst of Change

I’ve been thinking a lot about change this summer.

Change is our constant companion.

Seasons change.

Circumstances change.

Relationships change.

Bodies change.

Whether we welcome it or resist it, change is woven into every part of our lives.

Living between Raleigh, North Carolina and San Pedro, Belize has made me especially aware of this. One month I’m watching the crepe myrtles bloom outside my window. The next, I’m looking out over the Caribbean Sea. The scenery changes, the rhythm of life changes, and each transition invites me to begin again.

Some changes are joyful.

Others are much harder to accept.

A rare neurological condition runs in my family, and I have watched the changes that progression brings over time. Those living with a progressive condition often understand, perhaps more than most, that change isn’t something that happens once. It unfolds day by day, sometimes so quietly that only they notice.

Over the years, I’ve come to believe that we can’t always change what is happening to us, but we can change the way we meet it.

Yoga therapy offers an anchor in the midst of change. Through a personalized practice, we use movement, breath, relaxation, and other therapeutic tools to help regulate the nervous system, cultivate steadiness, and reconnect with a sense of confidence in the body.

The goal isn’t to stop change.

It’s to learn how to meet it with greater ease, resilience, and compassion.

If this resonates with you or someone you love, I would love to connect. Let’s navigate this together.

Wishing you steadiness wherever this season finds you.

Warmly,

Shannon
